- To ensure child and family protection.
- To provide scholarship to bright but vulnerable students.
- To offer Integrated Early Childhood Development.
- To offer community health and nutrition.
These are some of the activities which have been undertaken:
- Inception Meeting: St. Jerome Emiliano Ramula Integrated Child and family program
Champions of Peace held an inception meeting for the orphans and vulnerable project (St. Jerome Emiliano Ramula Integrated Child and family program) at South-west Seme location in Seme Sub-County.
The program will see over 100 children from Alungo North sub-location and Alwala sub-location benefit from nutritional school feeding program.
The program includes supporting orphans and vulnerable children with uniforms, Christmas pack, full scholarship for those going to Secondary and colleges.
The piloting of the program is taking place at Alwala primary and Nyalik primary before it's rolled out in other identified places.
The assistant chiefs from the two sub-locations commended the project and urge the community members to embrace and support the program to the best of their ability. They prevail upon the community workers to implore integrity in order to sustain and expand the project.
The head-teachers appreciated the organization and promised to support the program in ensuring students stay in school. They implored unity amongst various sectors in the society for the project to bear fruits and help as many children as possible.
The feeding program for class one and ECD from the two schools will commence tomorrow, as two sacks of nutritional porridge flour was delivered today by Champions of Peace Programme Director, Mr Elly Opondo.
Also present were officials from Children department, Community Health Volunteers, school Board members, Parents Teachers Association Chairman, ECD representative. (29th November 2021)
- St. Jerome Emiliano Ramula Integrated Child and Family Program launch.
Champions of Peace launched St. Jerome Emiliano Ramula Integrated Child and family program in Seme Sub-County. The program is designed to offer training for families and the communities on various skills: garment making (school uniforms), paralegal services to rape cases, Gender-Based Violence and leadership trainings .etc.
At the piloting stage, the center will also host nutritional feeding programs for two primary school-Nyalik and Alwala in Seme Sub-County, hence large students turn out and low drop out cases in schools. (6th December 2021)
- Champions of Peace Staff’s Christmas Gift to the Needy.
We appreciate our staff and all partners who generously contributed to Charity Need Campaign (Christmas Gift), the food items donation to 100 families in Alwala and Alungo North Sub-location in Seme Sub-County was a success.
